Overview on Strontium Nitrate Aerosol Extinguishing System

Our strontium nitrate aerosol fire extinguishing systems are the newest advanced fire technology products, which can be divided into 5 types: Mini Aerosol Series, Floor Standing Series, Wall-mounted Series, Portable Series, and Lithium battery series.

For Mini Aerosol


Mini series of aerosol has a special name “MINISOL”, which has 5 styles of activation mode (actuator mode), there are: electrical (electric or electronic) start, thermal cord start, thermo bulb (glass bulb) start, electrical plus thermal cord start, electrical plus thermo bulb start.

  • Firstly, in The Electrical activation mode, one uses an electrical cable as an actuator to start the minisol aerosol fire extinguishing device. the power supply from the power source could be 3 to 24 VDC or 3 to 380 VAC, it can work standalone by matching with a standalone temperature detection element called “Thermal Activation Generator TAG”(Also called Thermal Activation Device TAD).
  • Secondly, in the Thermal cord activation mode, one uses a  rated temperature of 175℃ or 300℃ thermal cord as an actuator to start the Minisol aerosol fire suppression system, it is automatic to detect and suppress fire; the thermal cord starts the fire extinguisher employing self-combustion.
  • Thirdly, the Thermo bulb activation mode uses a rated temperature of 57℃,68℃,79℃ or 93℃ thermo glass bulb as an actuator to trigger the minisol aerosol generator, it is also automatic to detect fire and extinguish fire; The core component of this style aerosol system is glass bulb, which is a temperature sensing element, and the best brand is “JOB BULB” from Germany.
  • Fourthly, the Electrical plus thermal cord activation mode, this is combines electrical activation and thermal cord activation functions together on the device, both the thermal cord to start and the electrical power supply.
    Fifthly, Electrical plus thermo bulb activation mode, this one not only triggered by electronic power but also by temperature sensing of glass bulbs; It is generally used in relatively static space.

The mini aerosol fire extinguisher is mostly used in electrical panels, vehicles, and wind turbines, so people also would like to name it “electrical panel fire protection system“, “vehicle fire suppression system” and “wind turbine fire extinguishing system“.

Its cylinder material is made of 304 stainless steel, so it can be installed in a humid environment.

For Floor Standing Aerosol

Floor standing Series of aerosol is a larger size of fire suppression tool, which is placed on the floor, it is in cuboid shape and painted in silver-white or red color.

The electrical activation power supply is 3 to 24 VDC or 3 to 380 VAC; It is generally used for extinguishing fires in large spaces, but better not to exceed 1600 m³, the protection space could be a telecommunication room, data processing room, server room, computer room, switch-gear room, power distribution and generator room etc.

For Wall-Mounted Aerosol

Wall-mounted series of aerosol is a style that is cylindrical and red, its main power supply is also 3-24 VDC or 3-380; just that of floor-standing aerosol, it is mainly used in larger spaces.

Its advantage is that it does not occupy space, because it is hung on the ceiling or installed on the wall.

For Lithium Battery Pack Aerosol 

Lithium battery pack is a special hazard where is hard to make a fire protection in such as narrow and limited space, so for lithium battery fire protection, we specially developed a new style aerosol micro size of aerosol with capacity ranging from 8 grams to 60 grams.

It is specially made for lithium battery energy storage systems, it has a fashionable appearance, is also very small, and is easy to install; furthermore, it also can be applied in electric motors, electric bikes, and small size of electrical cabinets.

For Manual Operation Aerosol 

Manual operation aerosol also called manual throwing aerosol extinguisher, is generally used by special departments, such as firefighters, police, and the army, so we normally do not have stock in our workshop, if interested, this product needs to be customized to produce.

For Portable Aerosol

The portable series of aerosol is a new invention, it is portable, compact, and small, it was developed to extinguish small fires in specific places like offices, kitchens, outdoor camping tents, government offices, family cars, hotels, storage facilities, etc.

The above aerosol fire suppression system is made up of the main chemicals of strontium nitrate and potassium nitrate, it is a clean and green product which having below listing features:

  • Environmentally friendly, which is ODP=0, GWP=0, ALT=0, the little residue left after releasing, it is a halon alternative.
  • It works without any pressure, it is a non-pressurized system and pipe-less system.
  • It has a life span of more than 10 years, which is a long life circle.

Aerosol suppression systems have advantages and features that other gaseous fire systems do not have, all over the world many projects like to search for aerosol systems as their first choice solution, as it mainly could be applied in the following fields, but not limited to:
Industrial, Off-shore, On-shore oil and gas, Government, Power generation, Telecommunications, Mining, Electrical cabinets and racks, Land transport, Marine, Warehouse, Computer Numerical Control machines, ATMs, Machinery, Financial institutions, Data centers, Cultural heritage (Archives, Museums), Manufacturing and storage facilities, etc.
